We volunteered at the WFFT rescue centre in Kao Look Chang in the Phetchaburi province, south of Bangkok.

The sanctuary is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of wild animals previously exploited as pets or used for profit within the tourist industry. Many of the animals arrived at the centre with permanent disabilities and will never be fit for release in to the wild. For those, the WFFT provides the best possible quality of life within captivity. For the others, they will eventually be released back in to the wild, or on to one of the WFFT’s Islands where they will remain to be cared for and protected by the centre but with little or no human interaction.
